Last Saturday, dad invited 4 monks over to his office in Penang for Dana food offering.. all his staff is invited as well to offer food/robes to the monks.. Some of you might wonder what is the meaning of Dana, i dont really know how to explain it but here's what i've found :-
Dana is a Pali word that can be translated as giving, generosity, charity and liberality. Buddhist should take heed and cultivate a good spirit of dana. Its is a first step towards eliminating the defilement of greed, hatred and delusion (lobka, dosa & moha), for every act of giving is an act of non-greed, non-hatred and non-delusion.

Mum, sister and i reached early at the office to prepare the food and place while dad and bro went and fetch the monks over..
not my cup of tea.
after cleaning the places and get the food ready, the monks came just in time. There's still some time left so one of the monks gave some Dharmma talk to all of us.. All of us learnt alot and im happy! Next, we start off with some chantings and then its time to offer food to the monks..
food brought by everyone! Dad ordered the food from the hawker nearby and they even sponsored some! A meritorious act indeed! :)
after done everything, its time for the monks to head back to the monastery..
then comes the hardest part - CLEANING!
there's a lot of food left and so we got to tapau back.. lol
it took us quite awhile to wash the plates and everything...
everything is back into place. :D
So, thats about it! Dont know what else to write cuz im kinda busy during the weekends, picking furniture/plants/etc for the new house- thats actually the best part! :p hope to update about it next time.. till then peeps! ;)
