Myanmar ;)

hey people! i just reached home yesterday evening.. it was indeed an enjoyable trip for me but i think i have a 'thing' for planes (not a good one) -.- i got dizzy and wanting to puke whenever i board the plane! eventually i already puked for countless of times during the trip and yes i was sick! its really tormenting u know to puke out each time u had your meal.. and i even missed a half day trip to rest in the hotel room alone! =(

DAY 1.

took this from my tour bus. if u notice, there are korean japanese wordings this is because Myanmar bought scraps/unwanted bus from Korea Japan and repair it to use it back in their own country!

first restaurant visited. Golden Duck Restaurant.

the famous dish. golden duck!
its called 'sui-beh' in their language. lol more like a pretty horse to me ;D

in front of the hotel a Burmese lady wearing their traditional outfit. i look stale here though~

Park Royal Hotel, Yangon.

Bogyoke Market.

Thanaka! bought 2 more back to have a nice soothing mask! ;D

the famous handmade sandals.

we bought 6 back. LOL
19USD altogether!

next stop, Shwe Dagon Pagoda.
its very famous in Myanmar.

Day 2.

otw trip to the Golden Rock, locals selling their goods.

the toilet /jamban. according to mum, its like old times! lmaoo

we took nearly 4-5hours to reach Kyaik Hto and when we reach there we need to take sit on a lorry to bring us up to the mid hill and we got to hike up to reach the Golden Rock! very tiring and its raining like super heavy.

on the truck.

get ready to hike up! its raining super heavy.

we were partly soaking wet though we were on raincoats and umbrella!

at last we reached the top after an hour hike and luckily the rain stopped but the wind is like freakin strong that it almost blew me away! haha

the kids there~ xD

the golden rock behind us.

after had our lunch there we straight continue our journey to out Pa Auk Tawya Monastery for our main purpose : To attend the Offering Ceremony to the monks.
we stayed there for 3 days 3 nights.

Day 3 - Day 4.

with my sister and Jane. im the shortest! *yikes

not loooking at the camera and im definitely not smiling! >.< hundreds and hundreds of monks from all over the country,
Thailand, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Bangkok, Vietnam ,etc etc..

and the nuns.

the monks all lined up.

me offering robe to the monks. ;D

helping mum to offer the toilet brushes to the monks.

the sister offering and i dont know what im doing there but it sure looks funny! xDDD

Day 5.

our destination to Bagan by bumpy plane ride. == fyi, Bagan is one of a city in Myanmar not the Taman Bagan in Butterworth. lol
Bagan is a very nice place to go as the scenery is just magnificent! theres few thousands of stupa there and you can just see it along the road as u pass.

one of the stupa. i cant remember the name of it. =X

paintings made from sand. 20USD each for the big ones
mum bought loads of 'em back! lol

one of the stupa along the road.

went up to a stupa to have a fantastic view of the sunset.

billy goats!

the wind there is sooo strong!

saw the rainbow there? lol

shadows~

sunset. its simply amazing!

Day 6.

sunrise! 5sth in the morning.

back to the hotel to have breakfast in the garden.

;)

Bagan famous Laquer ware.

group pic in the restaurant.

this is how they serve their food!

one of the dishes with cute serving. xD

THANAKHA is a very popular cosmetic in Myanmar among both younger and older generations of women. Most females and children, use it not only as a facial make-up but also as a medicine. It’s very effective for pimples and freckles and getting rid of it protects the skin from the sun’s sweltering heat. Due to these virtues, thanakha has been an essential item for Myanmar women for hundreds of years perhaps. Girls value it so much that they will not pose for a photo unless they have applied thanakha on their face. more info click here

Day 7.

fly back from Bagan to Yangon. Had dim sum for lunch! i was still sick since day 6. sigh~

hotel that im staying for the last day in Yangon.

canopy bed! xD

i was so glad that i found wifi and got to online in that hotel! guess what?! Myanmar doesnt allow us foreigners to make calls with our own number! ;( we have to buy their local number and it cost us USD25. So its not worth it for me to get one there..

saw that golden thing on the lake? its a very grand restaurant! too bad we dont get to go in this trip. my mum dad and sis get to dine there last March! not fair~
hmph.

went stone jewellery shopping too! :)

Day 8.

home! but still not feeling well.. i've been puking each time i had my meal and it totally sucks. On the bright side, its indeed a very successful trip and i truly enjoyed it with my family. looking forward to my second Myanmar trip! =X
